Just got back into the idea of touring bikes after almost 20 years. Sold my 2003 GL1800 in 2006 and now looking at a 2020 Tour (non-DCT) secondhand. My wife's planning to ride with me, so I'm wondering. Should I get the 2025 for the bigger trunk (and it's the 50th anniversary edition, too), or is it possible to add a large top box to that 2020? I've never ridden a modern Wing, so any tips on the ride feel vs the older models would help too.

Glad to hear you're getting back in the saddle after all these years. I made the jump from '01 to '22, and let me tell you, the newer Wings are like trading in a tractor for a luxury yacht, smoother ride, and smarter tech, and that '25 trunk is a game changer for storage.

You can definitely add a top box to the '20 if budget or availability leans that way, but if you're riding with your wife and want the latest perks, the '25 might be worth the stretch. Take both for a test ride and see which one feels like the right fit.

Have you had a chance to sit on or test ride the 2020 yet to compare the ergonomics and passenger comfort to what you and your wife remember from the GL1800?

As someone just stepping into the Wing world, I'm curious, how noticeable is the tech upgrade between the '22 and '25 on long rides? And does the new trunk affect passenger comfort or seating at all? Thanks!
